From a very young age, Juan Diego Villalobos found his language within the percussive force. Whether behind  different drums' skins, or the unmistakable metallic scale of the vibraphone; the passion and spirit to generate meetings of environmental, yet energetic sounds define him. New York came into his life a few years ago to finish outlining the sophistication between urban and classic that he had been working on already since his native Venezuela. “Perspectiva” , his first production, offered a robust sample of Villalobos' composition abilities. Cosmopolitan, dynamic and with a great sense of ensemble, Villalobos presents himself as one of the leading musicians of his generation and, from now on, as one of the most promising pieces of jazz in the United States.
